About RHiNO<\/div>\n

A multidisciplinary programme for respiratory health after preterm birth<\/h1>\n

\n Respiratory Health Outcomes in Neonates (RHiNO) brought together paediatric respiratory medicine,
\n physiology, imaging, trials, epidemiology, statistics, nursing and parent involvement to understand
\n how preterm birth affects the lungs from childhood towards adult life.\n <\/p>\n

How RHiNO was built<\/div>\n

A collaboration across institutions and disciplines<\/h2>\n

\n RHiNO grew from the earlier RANOPs population programme and was developed as a collaboration between
\n Cardiff, Bristol, Sheffield, Bangor\/NWORTH and the University of South Wales, with parent representation

Current scientific direction<\/div>\n

From completed recruitment to life-course PLD research<\/h2>\n

\n RHiNO is now increasingly focused on how prematurity-associated lung disease phenotypes evolve through
\n adolescence and adulthood, whether abnormalities are reversible, how environmental and biological
\n mechanisms contribute, and which interventions might preserve lung-growth trajectories.\n <\/p>\n

\n This shift\u2014from describing symptoms to defining phenotype, mechanism, trajectory and treatment\u2014is the
\n reason RHiNO now functions as a scientific hub rather than simply a completed childhood study.\n <\/p>\n
